Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: https certificate error on my WP siteHi. The problem I have is that google and or wordpress is serving up an https link for this specific page, and potential clients are getting the certificate error. So it likely will be limiting traffic to my site.
I did submit a site map to google, and I’ll see how to look for not found pages.
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: https certificate error on my WP siteNow I understand what you’re saying. But how do I fix it?
When I click in the google search result (with the https) it does go to the right page.
I checked the permalink to that page in the wordpress admin, and wp specifies https:// (no s).
All of my other pages, and main domain, come up in google searches without any www. or https://, just the domain-name.com/directory

In reply to: https certificate error on my WP siteNo, google shows it as found—when I click the link it goes to the page.
No https security settings, or external links on this page, though. I don’t get this error when searching other pages to my site, which are basically the same as this.

In reply to: https certificate error on my WP siteYes, here is the search string. It should be the first link in the results list (Acquazzone: Design to envision). When I select it, I get the certificate error. My web host, mediatemple.net, also get the error.

Update 2: I keep getting this error message via email:
A host, 71.135.33.39(you can check the host at https://ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/71.135.33.39) has been locked out of the WordPress site at https://acquazzone.net until Friday, April 5th, 2013 at 5:34:08 pm UTC due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. You may login to the site to manually release the lock if necessary.
Hi. Here’s an update.
1. I renamed the wp-content folder back to wp-content. I can now get into some form of the CMS, but plug ins are not showing at all, including yours.
I tried renaming the content folder back to the new name (from your tool), and I can’t, it says that file already exists.
2. This is what I get when I try to install a plug in:
Unpacking the package…Installing the plugin…
Could not create directory. /nfs/c03/h06/mnt/47012/domains/acquazzone.net/html/acq-contenuto/plugins/better-wp-security/
Plugin install failed.
Any ideas?
I have a DB backup from the wordpress db backup tool, and the back up from your tool, and my wp-contnet folder from the site.
Would it be best to reinstall from scratch? WOuld would this entail? (I’m not a dev.)
Thanks for any help here!
