We have the WP Video Lightbox plugin installed on our SSL site and it seems to not be working so well with the YouTube videos. The links to the YouTube videos are showing as https, but when they’re clicked, the lightbox window that pops up is empty and in the developer tools, it shows the src of the YouTube iframe as http instead.

We tried using the setting in the HTTPS plugin that forces SSL exclusively and the videos showed up again, but it caused problems with logging in to the WordPress backend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, this issue has been already fixed in the plugin. What version of video lightbox are you using? Please provide a link to the page in question so I can take a look.

I just recently updated to version 1.7.1 to see if that would fix it, but it didn’t.

    Here’s the link: https://viniferamine.com/resources/
Just click on one of the drop downs in the orange box on the right side and then on one of the the links. It should bring up the lightbox but the video won’t show.

    Thanks!

Hi @justin203 I have checked a few of the links as per your request above but they don’t have the following added https://. They only have https://. Add the s to all of them to make them SSL compliant and they will work.

    Kind regards

    Hi @mbrsolution,

Maybe I didn’t a good job at explaining it, but that’s basically a restatement of my problem.

Since the URLs are in a shortcode for the plugin, I’m not able to change them. All that gets added in the shortcode is the YouTube video id.

If you hover over the link, it shows the URL as https. However, when you actually click on the link to bring up the Lightbox, it’s only http.

Hi sorry for misunderstanding you. I re-read your original post above and you do explain it correctly.

Did you set up your SSL certificate before or after you installed this plugin?

Make sure that you don’t have other conflicts with one of your other plugins.

    Regards

@justin203, the SSL error is actually coming from the prettyPhoto script include by “js_composer” plugin. It’s also overriding the video lightbox plugin options. Please deactivate that plugin and it should fix the issue.

@mbrsolution, no problem! I appreciate the help!

@wptipsntricks, unfortunately, that plugin is necessary for my theme. I was able to comment out its call to the prettyPhoto script though, which fixed the problem.

Thank you everyone for the help!!

What is the fix for this? This site is secured with SSL and none of WP Video Lightbox shortcodes work anymore: desertwestobgyn.com.

The one video on the homepage that does work is just using a regular lightbox, which isn’t as easy.

I tried deleting the WP Video Lightbox plugin and reinstalling but that didn’t help. Disabling the PrettyPhoto Library in WP Video Lightbox settings causes an error.

    Thanks, Gary

@web Studio West There was a conflict with another plugin that was using the PrettyPhoto library. It looks like it could be doing the same with yours. The Avada theme is calling prettyPhoto.js as well.
