• Hello All,

    I’m having this issue ever since i migrated my website in november 2017 from one hosting account to another. My website works fine but after few days or few weeks my website pages get messed and the pages are like broken. My homepage menu bar disappears, my slider also disappears and all i can see on my pages is the links and this happens to all my other pages across my website. When i click on any of the link it takes me to the HTTPS page of the website (Your connection is not private), keeping in mind that my website has no SSL installed on my website. when i clear the cache of my Caching plugin then everything gets back to normal as if nothing happened. This is very frustrating since i have to keep on monitoring my website quite often for any spontaneous issue. Can someone please figure out what could be the issue.

  • Hello,

    I see the WP version is 4.9.3 and I would like to inform you that It will be better to update to 4.9.4, If your hosting provider does not force the update.
    That’s not related to your current issue, but due to security concerns and for your personal convenience.

    About the messed up content of the website:

    Do you wish to have your website running with SSL or without one?
    If you would like to have SSL, contact your hosting provider and ask them to install It (If they offer free SSL). Also, could you please share the URL of your website?

    @zamunda68 thank you for replying so fast, I do not want to install SSL certificate on my website. Following is the link to my website.

    https://www.Troogs.com

    Hello again buddy,
    Apologies for the delay. Since you do not want to have SSL, but many of the URL resources are loading through “https”
    , those “https://troogs.com” URLs need to be replaced with “https://www.troogs.com”

    That needs to be with the Better Search & Replace plugin OR with wp-cli (SSH) command.

    @zamunda68 Hello,

    Thanks for replying, i have installed Better Search & Replace plugin and backed up my website. Can you please tell me what shall i enter in Search box (would that be https://) to be replaced with (https://) or shall i enter the whole link like (https://troogs.com).

    May i also know that how did you find out that many of the URL resources on my website are loading through “https”. I have checked the resource page of my home page and searched for any link with “https” related to troogs but was not able to find that.

    @zamunda68 hello,

    i again got that issue on my site and found out that the page source has changed to the following (https://)

    <link rel=’dns-prefetch’ href=’//s.w.org’ />
    <link rel=”alternate” type=”application/rss+xml” title=”Troogs » Feed” href=”https://www.troogs.com/feed/&#8221; />
    <link rel=”alternate” type=”application/rss+xml” title=”Troogs » Comments Feed” href=”https://www.troogs.com/comments/feed/&#8221; />
    <script type=”text/javascript”>

    Now, if it will clear the cache of the site it will change back to normal.

    Hello again,

    You should search for https://https://troogs.com and replace with It “https://www.troogs.com&#8221; and you will also need to select all tables in the Better Search & Replace plugin.
    Please, as well uncheck the “Dry Run” box.

    I assume that since you have “https” re-directions on your website, there should be “https://yourwebsite&#8221; URLs in the data base.
    That’s how I found out there are “https” URLs.

    @zamunda68 Thank you so much for your assistance, I will definitely going to do that and see if it will resolve my issue. ??

    @zamunda68 I have changed the https to http, however, the issue still persists. If you check out my website https://www.troogs.com you may see that the home page is all messed up and if you see the page source you will see HTTPS: instead of HTTP:

    If i clear the cache using the WP rocket plugin it will go normal again and the HTTPS will change back to http. I’m still unable to figure out the issue.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Since that is the case, I will advice you to contact the Technical Support of the hosting by submitting ticket to them.

    @zamunda68
    hi, I disabled the caching plugin and the website got normal again. I have changed the caching plugin. I hope that it won’t happen again.

    Hey buddy,

    Well, I am glad to hear It’s working now. For future I will advice you to either use the W3 Total Cache (even though It’s a bit heavy and requires more manual changes to work properly) or the WP Super Cache.
    The WP Super Cache is kind of like the WP Rocket plugin – easy to set up and run, right away. ??

    Cheers!
