• I’ve seen that if the user does not include https:// in the link quicktag, it breaks. I also heard from my friends that it is a known WP bug and work is on to fix it.

Until then it would be great if a one line warning appears on the pop-up where we enter the URL to include https://. I do know that it appears by default, but users tend to overwrite it.

  • The https:// is already there. All you have to do is not type over it. What’s the “bug”?

It’s actually more of a “bug” that if you cut and paste the URL from the browser bar, you can end up with “https://https://” if you aren’t careful.

Please read the entire post (and airquotes still suck). I said that ‘ I do know that it appears by default, but users tend to overwrite it’. I manage 6 WP run blogs, and have had to deal with this issue many many times.

Also, I didn’t say it was a bug. Anyways, its basically directed towards the UI guys. It’s just a design issue.
