    Hello:
Been trying to migrate over to https. I have my certificate. Downloaded Really Simple SSL. And it is easy! Ran my site through an SSL Check and all looks fine, no issues. But when I go to my dashboard, and begin to edit posts/pages, the yellow lock appears with the warning, “not all parts of page are secure, such as images.”

When I click on the photo and “inspect element,” I can see that it is still https:// Yet when I go into my media and pull up the photo, it says https://

Who do I believe? And how can I change my photos to https://?

I’m not a super technical person–I’m just a blogger–so could you explain things to me simply? THANK YOU!!

    Hi,

it sounds like images on the backend are still loaded over https://. Are you using a page builder? Perhaps this page builder uses some form of caching which cause it to think the site is still https://. Can you try to clear all caches the website uses to see if that makes a difference?

Thanks, Mark. I use a child theme from 2012 so, yes, I believe I do use a page builder. I will take your suggestion and try clearing the caches and report back.

I have had WP Super Cache installed and it seems like it’s doing its job but there are so many settings (again, I’m not a tech person just a blogger) that perhaps I’m not using it correctly?

Is there a simple cache plug in that you can recommend?

    Hi,

WP Super Cache is fine, usually there will be a button in the top admin bar with ‘Cache’ or something similar, hovering over that will usually bring up a ‘Clear Cache’ or ‘Purge Cache’ button, clicking that should clear the cache entirely. If the issue still persists after that, you can also check if the /uploads/ folder contains an .htaccess file that might be redirecting all files in the folder to https://. The easiest way to do this is access your site via FTP and navigate to the /uploads/ folder to see if an .htaccess file exists there.
