SSL Certificate Expired

The other day I tried to log into my dashboard through my site and got a message that I didn’t have a trusted connection. When I explored further, it said that my SSL certificate had expired a few days ago.
I did a search here and found an article that basically said to update the https:// prefix to https://. I tried that and it didn’t solve the problem.
I also got the impression that it could be a browser issue, but I’ve tried to go to my site using different browsers and I get the same message.
How do I fix this?
