Sitemap not working after disabling the Plugin

Hi,

your sitemap seems to be only containing images. This indicates your sitemap is incomplete and isn’t rendered correctly. I’d suggest to try and regenerate the sitemap within the plugin you are currently using to generate it. Possible that plugin is configured to only include images in the sitemap. Really Simple SSL doesn’t make any changes to your sitemap, on plugin deactivation it will revert your site back to https://. The site- and home-url will be changed back to https:// and the mixed content fixer/redirect will stop working.

Thank you for the reply.

I have currently three sitemaps and none of them are working, I’ve checked and they’re not images.

My sitemps:

https://www.aquilatauheny.com.br/sitemap.xml – by Jetpack
https://www.aquilatauheny.com.br/sitemap_index.xml – by Yoast
https://www.aquilatauheny.com.br/sitemap-manual.xml – by sitemap generator online wich I uploaded with file manager from cPanel.

https://www.aquilatauheny.com.br/sitemap-manual.xml (this one I can’t even access, it seems it’s not public) Altough it is in te root directory.

I do not know what the mixed content fixer could be, my website links are working fine though. I changed the home-url to https and it is working too.

Hi @valmy02,

the sitemap does seem to have more content now, the post/pages etc are listed with https:// so I don’t think the namespace is the issue. You could contact Yoast about this issue. They can check if the sitemap is set up correctly now.

I have contacted them and they said that the sitemap is correct, sadly I do not know what to do anymore.

Hi Valmy,

strange, as the sitemap does seem to be valid when using a sitemap validator. You could try to only have one sitemap active at one time instead of 3 to see if that resolves the issue. Another possibility is that Google cannot read your sitemap due to restrictions. See https://metinsaylan.com/9642/how-to-solve-search-console-sitemap-could-not-be-read-error/

The sitemap should validate when loading over https://. I’m not sure why the sitemap is not working as everything seems to be set up correctly. The sitemap is available over https:// and loads fine.

When testing the sitemap with https the results are good in the XML Sitemap Validator, do you think this is a problem?

Since the site is now on https://, the https:// sitemap is the important one. The plugin redirects all requests to https://, so the https:// sitemap can become unavailable as it is redirected to https://.

Since the sitemap I submitted in GSC is on https:// it shouldn’t be a problem, right? Anyway, I don’t think that the problem is caused by this plugin. I’ll let you know what was causing this problem once I find it.
