Pagination not working

The pagination does not seem to work. By this I mean, regardless of which page number I click on, I’m getting the same set of tiles as I do on the first page.

I notice the URL when I mouse over the pages seem to be a bit messed up. When I’m on the first page and when I mouse over the page numbers, they all seem to be fine (even though the content is not correct). But as soon as I click on any other page number and mouse over the page numbers in the pagination display, the URLs look weird.

For example (I’ve masked the name of my site as it’s a private family blog) :

The URL for Page 16 when viewed from Page 1 looks like this :
https://???.com/?page_id=2771/page/16

But as soon as I navigate to any other page (Eg Page 2), the URL for Page 16 now looks like this :
https://???.com/?page_id=2771%2Fpage%2F2/page/16

Even though I’m now on page 2 (which shows the same content as page 1), when I mouse over the “next” button, the URL shows this :
https://???.com/?page_id=2771%2Fpage%2F2/page/2
