    Hi,

Have installed and activated Really Simple SSL.

But I can still open files from the media library with insecure connection (HTTP).

I thought your plugin took care of this as well? Or should I still manually change the htaccess?

    Hi Guido,

what redirect option have you enabled in the plugin settings? Enabling the 301 .htaccess redirect option should force direct requests to media files over https://.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for your quick response.
I already did a test with the 301 redirect (although I thought that setting is meant to catch 404 and other wrong URLs), but I could still open file via HTTP.
Guess the htaccess in root folder is being adjusted, when activating this? In that case I have to check if my htaccess file is being changed or not.

The .htaccess file in the root folder is indeed the one being edited. If the Really Simple SSL .htaccess redirect is active it will be posted between # BEGIN Really Simple SSL and # END Really Simple SSL tags.

    Great, it does work now.
Somehow it did not work this morning, but “your” rewrite rules are added to the htaccess now.
