• I am having trouble getting sound using the player on one of my websites.

I’ve tried several different things. I even tried taking the shortcode into another website where the player is installed and working. Even on a page where the player is working, the new one doesn’t play while the one that is there already does.

The bottom is there, and when you press play, it shifts to the pause button but no sound. Clicking on pause turns it off.

I’ve checked and rechecked the shortcode but it seems right.

This is the shortcode for two different ways I’ve tried it.

    Via file uploaded in CPanel
    [sc_embed_player fileurl=”https://www.themeditationway.com/wp-content/audio/BWSamples.mp3”]

    Via File in media library
    [sc_embed_player fileurl=”https://www.themeditationway.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/BWSamples.mp3”]

    It’s on this page.

I’m hoping there is a solution for this. The native player stretches all the way across and I much prefer your simple little player button.

Hi Kat, can you remove all and only have one shortcode? See if that works. If it doesn’t can you disable all of your other plugins and carry out the same test, only one shortcode.

Let me know how you go.

    hi,

    Thanks for the speedy response.

I did a page with just the one player originally. I only added the others as a way to describe the problem to you.

RE the plugins, it doesn’t make sense that it’s a plugin conflict because of this…

“I even tried taking the shortcode into another website where the player is installed and working. Even on a page where the player is working, the new one doesn’t play while the one that is there already does.”

Here are two pages from that other website where one button works and the other doesn’t.
This is the new one that doesn’t work.
    https://www.youruniqueexpression.com/test-anything/

This is the one that’s been there a while and works fine.
    https://www.youruniqueexpression.com/audio-series-first/

Both of these are versions uploaded to CPanel.

    Any other ideas?
I’m going to be very sorry if I can’t get this player to work!

Whether I can or can’t, I still appreciate your help.

Hi, I checked both links above. I think I found out why one works and the other does not work.

The URL page that does not work has the following error

HTTP load failed with status 404. Load of media resource https://www.youruniqueexpression.com/test-anything/%E2%80%9Dhttps://www.youruniqueexpression.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/BWSamples.mp3%E2%80%9D failed.

Please note in the error message above the https:// from the file that does not play. Shouldn’t your site be https://?

Also there is something wrong with the URL path.

I carried out a test using your file and similar URL path and it worked on my testing site. But on your site you get the error message I described above.

    Regards

Dear mbrsolution – I’ve been struggling to get CAP to work on my website: https://www.joesworld.us I can get the on/off toggle switch to show up. I’m trying to set it up with auto sound. but there’s no sound. for the short code, I’m getting the URL of the file from the uploads collection. I’ve been copying the entire URL as it’s shown in the box. there are two numbers there, which are not in the file name, but I’m including those. I’ve shut off all the plug-ins, no help there. I’ve tried putting CAP into a virgin page. that also didn’t work. I thought maybe I had a faulty installation, so I deleted it and did a new install. it’s not vital that this feature should work on my site, but I used the sound file back in my DreamWeaver days, and it was a nice touch. Any suggestion from you would be very welcome.

    Thank you, 51Benson19

There’s not supposed to be “” around the url of the audio file, try removing those.

    Good luck, Peter

@51benson19, please start a new support thread. This thread is 1 month old and it is easier to manage individual issues.

    Thank you

Dear Alexander77 – removing the “” fixed it. MANY THANKS! 51Benson19
