  • I’m getting the same issue. I installed this plugin on one site and it worked perfectly (created file at /sitemap.xml). On the next site I installed it on, it created the sitemap at:
    https://{domain.name}/index.php?xml_sitemap=params=

Working site: WordPress 4.0 running custom theme.

Not working site: WordPress 4.0 running Hemingway theme.

Both are hosted on the same server: Ubuntu 14.04, Apache 2.4.7, php5.5.9, mysql 5.5.38

I think I have the same issue, i.e. no sitemap is being generated. If I look at my site using ftp there are no xml files in the root or anywhere else. The pugin tells me it has informed Google, Bing etc but no sitemaps in the site itself. Am I doing something wrong?

I am having the same issue.

Still have no sitemap and it’s prompting me to donate. Guess I have to look for another plugin.

I stand corrected. It looks like the site map was generated correctly and Google is happy with it.

To everyone else who commented, if there’s a link like the one in my first post on this thread, it IS the XML site map.

Just to mention, newer versions of this plugin don’t create a file named sitemap.xml in the root of your wordpress installation. It’s a virtual file generated on the fly.

if it is a virtual file , how do I notify Google in my webmaster enviroment??
