Whenever I try do anyting with this plugin its:

    Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/plugins.php on this server.

    Example:
    wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade

    wp-admin/plugins.php?action=activate&plugin=email-address-encoder%2Femail-address-encoder.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=ebbadbab55

Update or activate. Noting works and its only this plugin.

If you delete the plugin folder, does your admin work then?

All other plugins work with no problems. Im not sure what to look for in Email Adress Encoder. I use All in one WP security but again all other plugin works with no problem.

I get forbidden when trying to use the encrypted scan feature also so its only this plugin that is locked.

I don’t know what “encrypted scan” is. I’d suggest you ask the All in one WP security team for help.

Your feature “scan for encrypted email adresses”. I get the same forbidden when i press that. The problem is that they cant help me much since all other plugins are working fine except this problems with Email Adress Encoder.

    Perfect, thanks!

Could you please share the URL from the address bar when you see the “Forbidden”?

It would look something like this:

    https://.../options-general.php?page=email-address-encoder

    (@webbmasterpianise)

The site is SSL so it starts with https://, dont know if that affects the plugin.

Strange. Are you seeing anything in your server logs?

    Thread Starter Piani

    (@webbmasterpianise)

Noting in logs..I will try backtrack my other plugins.

I can only assume it’s either a configuration issue with your server or a conflict with another plugin or theme. Does it work if you turn off all other plugins except Email Address Encoder?

    Thread Starter Piani

    (@webbmasterpianise)

I now have found the conflict. Its the security plugin that stops email address encoder. It do not cause any problem for any of my other plugins.

I use the plugin “All In One WP Security” with normal file protection. I do not understand why email address encoder is blocked and no other plugin. But when I turn of the security plugin I can fully use email address encoder features.

    Below is what they write:

“Your WordPress file and folder permission settings govern the accessability and read/write privileges of the files and folders which make up your WP installation.
Your WP installation already comes with reasonably secure file permission settings for the filesystem.
However, sometimes people or other plugins modify the various permission settings of certain core WP folders or files such that they end up making their site less secure because they chose the wrong permission values.
This feature will scan the critical WP core folders and files and will highlight any permission settings which are insecure.”

Strange. This plugin doesn’t even touch for filesystem. There is nothing I can do. I’d suggest you ask the all in one security team for help.

When I try to acces your plugin the file that ases the issue is “options-general.php”

“You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/options-general.php on this server.”

I can now still use and update the plugin when i turn security off and when done turn it on again.

I ask the security plugin in this thread:
