Duplicate wordpress site

  • How do I duplicate my existing wordpress website settings which contain all my images and settings as I want them. I want to duplicate it to another domain I own and then change the pictures and writing as I choose.

    I use Updraft Plus:

    There are lots of other ones to choose from, some free and some paid – Backup Buddy, WP Clone, Duplicator.

    Have a look on Google and you’ll find lots of information on Top 10 plugins for duplication/backup.

    Be sure your links are crafted correctly.

    1) External links best written //foo.com (no https:// or https://)

    2) Internal (onsite) links best written /wp-content/uploads/… (no site name)

    If you follow these guidelines, you can migrate your site + have it work correctly on an SSL or non-SSL dev/clone site.
