    Hi team!

Speaking from the LoginPress support team. A user reported an issue to us: he can’t log in if Security Optimizer’s 2FA is enabled.

Initially, we thought there would be some plugin conflict, but after testing, we discovered the issue was actually with your plugin. We wanted to bring this to your attention so you can investigate and address the problem.

I created a local test environment with only the Security Optimizer installed. The issue is that when the authentication code is entered, users are redirected back to the login page with error messages: “The username field is empty” and “The password field is empty.” Watch Video

Please check on your side to see if the issue is replicated. If you need any additional details, feel free to ask.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. You are already doing a great job. Hope this issue will be appropriately addressed.

    Looking forward to your response!

    Hello @emma24,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I have checked the provided video and I can see that at the moment the test installation is not configured to work over https://.

Could you please reconfigure the install to load securely and then test one more time on your end to see if the issue will still be present?

    Best Regards,

    Hello @gpetrova,

Thanks for the tip. I configured the site to https, and it worked fine in incognito mode only at first. But then I noticed that some cookies were saved, which did not allow me to log in and showed the same error. View Screenshot

When I cleared these cookies, I was able to log in fine. But I wonder what caused the error on the original user site, as it was already working on https.

It’s all settled now. To be knowledgeable, may I know why this feature is not functional with HTTP websites?

    Hello @emma24,

Serving the contents over the secure HTTPS protocol ensures that the information exchanged between your website and its visitors is encrypted and won’t be intercepted by third parties. The mentioned 2FA feature works as an extra security layer, so it is expected the site to run via https.

    Regards,

    Vladimir
