    Hello.

I am installing the Really Simple SSL plugin in a new WordPress, which has never given me any problems before. But this time, at the “DNS Verification” step, I get the error

    – Attempt 5. Keys exist already. Exists the LE_ACME2\Order already? Path: /srv/disk22/4184640/www/ekain.ga/4861117659/ssl/keys/[email protected]/order_656d04b7410c4dff6efbc6e6a6fe186d/

And the installation process stops there.

    How can I solve it?

Usually this can be resolved by clicking the reset link at the right top. Then start the wizard again.

Hello. First of all, thanks for replying.
Today I tried the installation again, to follow your advice. But I didn’t need it because that step has passed, on the first try.
Unfortunately, said installation has stopped a few steps later, specifically with an error message that says:

The challenge (checks) directory at https://ekain.ga/.well-known/acme-challenge/really-simple-ssl-permissions-check.txt could not be accessed. 404 error code.

I’ve tried start the wizard again several times, but it always gets stuck at the same point.

    Hello @magmlinares,

The message means that the plugin was unable to access that file on your server. And if you visit the URL in your own browser, you will notice that it indeed redirects to a 404 Not Found page.

You can switch to the “DNS Verification” method instead, which would avoid the need for the plugin to check that file. For instructions on how to complete that step, please see the DNS Verification section in this article.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

I’m sorry, but I think I will not be able to carry out your instructions, because my experimental website is hosted on zettahost.com, whose free plan does not allow “DNS verification”. ??

But I appreciate your advice anyway.

    Hi @magmlinares,

I see, if you are able to remove the (server) restriction that prevents the plugin from checking the .well-known/acme-challenge/really-simple-ssl-permissions-check.txt file, that should allow you to progress with the Directory verification method.

But it could be that your hosting provider restricts the generation of Lets Encrypt SSL certificates using these methods (you could check with them, if that is the case). In which case you might have to resort to using one of the SSL plans that the hosting provider offers.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hello.

I took my test-learn-experimental page to another free host, in this case 000webhost, and now I have exactly the same problem.

It successfully does the first phase of the installation:
    https://gyazo.com/16e4c9272244b8493924cb785aee324d

But then it gets stuck at exactly the same point in the second phase:
    https://gyazo.com/9995db577d5286af38d9ce8b54cb30ee

It is clear that this plugin is very good, and that the problem lies in the free hostings, which do not want to allow the installation of SSL certificates that are not their own, paid for.

So, since it is a website that will not have any traffic, which I do not intend to monetize in any way, just to learn and test issues of WordPress and its plugins, I will always leave it in normal https://.

    Thank you for your assitence.`
