    Hi there,

I recently obtained an SSL certificate from Cloudflare for my website and installed the Really Simple SSL plugin.

On Really Simple SSL page, it says “5% SSL is not yet enabled on this site.”

When I check the status of my SSL certificate using sslshopper.com, it indicates that my SSL is active. However, when I attempt to access my website using https://, I encounter an issue where I see “Index of/ name Last modified Size Description” and a blank page.

I can still access my website’s admin panel using https://, and I’ve noticed that both the “Site Address” and “WordPress Address” settings are currently set to https://.

Could you please advise on the next steps? Should I update the “Site Address” and “WordPress Address” settings to “https://” instead of https:// ?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Kind regards

    Hi @gosilver01,

Going by your description of the behavior it seems that you already have a valid SSL certificate, but that you hadn’t clicked the Activate SSL button in the Really Simple SSL plugin yet; so that the plugin can make the necessary changes for the site to work over HTTPS.

That’s where I would start, click the Activate SSL button in the Really Simple SSL Dashboard for the plugin to perform the necessary actions to enforce SSL/HTTPS on your site.

    Kind regards, Jarno

I clicked that button, Activate SSL, but it says I need to install manually.

    Hi @gosilver01,

I think that the issue with regards to the ‘directory browsing’ appearing when you visit the site over SSL is related to a symbolic link issue. You might have to change a setting in your web hosting control panel for that to work (or ask your Hosting Provider to do this for you), like the one mentioned in this article (https://really-simple-ssl.com/to-change-this-page-upload-a-new-index-html-to-your-private_html-folder/).

After addressing this so that the site is reachable over SSL/HTTPS, you should be able to proceed with activating SSL in the plugin as well.

    Kind regards, Jarno
