• I have written a post and I’d like to have people able to click on a link and pull up another page that I’ve written on Microsoft Word. I know that for a link I need an https://, but since this is just a Word document that I want to link to, how do I do it?

    My blog is https://www.coachingthefamily.com

    Thanks,
    Kathleen

  • You are probably better off converting the Word document to a PDF file and upload the PDF file.

However, either way, just upload the file into the location of your WP uploads folder, and create the link to there.
    https://www.coachingthefamily.com/wp-content/uploads/mydocument.doc (or .pdf)

tried what you suggested with a .pdf file – uploaded my file to the wp-content/uploads folder, but when I place the hyperlink on my page (not post!) and I click on the link, I get a 404 error message (inside the framework of my content part of my template.) Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

mcshaw, just upload pdf file in the root of your domain and use https://www.domain.com/yourfile.pdf for hyperlink. If you still get 404 page then probably you will need to add MIME type for PDF file in your web site.
