I found a solution.

This plugin lets you limit number of thumbnails and shows gallery images in a carousel. It is responsive too. The dev updated it for Woo 3.0, you have to be sure to select yes for Woo 3.0 fix in the plugin settings.

The zoom and lightbox settings were found in my theme Woocommerce settings rather than in the WP woocommerce settings, which is why I did not find them initially.

It really is horrible. I’m thinking of going back to last version. The new product image zoom and gallery thumbnails have ruined my product pages. Some of my products have as many as 25 images pushing the product description way down the page and it just looks like crap. Thanks WOo.

Hi – we use the built in layered navigation widget. Let me explain what’s happening better.

If you have 100 products/12 per page, with no filters applied and you go to page 2 in pagination, then
add a filter to reduce products shown that fill up less than 2+ pages (say 11 products found after filter is applied), you get a 404. No page 2 exists.

The pagination does not reset or re-calculate and ‘/page/2/’ stays in url:
The 404 is correct as there are no products to fill up a 2nd page. What should happen is pagination should either completely ‘reset’ and put you on “page 1” (no ‘/page/2/’ in url) any time you select or remove a new filter OR it should recalculate pages and either put you on page 1 or the same page if enough products are found.

For some reason, when you go to the second page of products, and use the layered nav widget to filter by attribute, it goes to this:
/product-category/category/page/2/?filtering=1&filter_location=88

When it should have done this:
/product-category/category/?filtering=1&filter_location=88

In other words, Woocommerce should have removed all pagination and started over when new filter is added or removed.

So how do we fix this BUG in Woocommerce?

Please help, this website was supposed to launch this week and now we are stuck.

Is the developer of this plugin still working on it? I notice it hasn’t been updated in almost a year…
