*kind of made a mess writing the first post and can’t see how to delete it and start over. So I am posting again – sorry.

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me with a little css – I am sure it isn’t as difficult as it seems – but I just can’t figure out what css to use to move the icons in my main navigation menu.

At the minute they are to the left of the menu item at the same level.

I want them to appear centred above the word.

    My website is https://www.integrateni.com

I am using the plugin “Menu Icons” and have written to the developer twice and had no reply. So hopefully someone here will be able to help me.

    Thank you very much
    Zoe

Please if anyone else has solution to my above problem – I would very much appreciate it – as I am desperate to have the icons appear above the text in the centre as shown in the link above on the jacobinmag site.

I cant see an option on here to do the same on my site – but I am hoping maybe there is a simple solution to achieve the same look?

    Thanks
    Zoe

Hi I would also very much like to know how to place the icon above the the text, as it currently only has the options for left or right. f you could help in any way that would be amazing! Thank you, Zoe

Hi again, I have been playing around and have managed to get the links to the posts in the category page to show in a list form with an excerpt by adding the following bit of code

    </h3><?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    https://www.integrateni.com/category/news

I still have not figured out what code is needed to generate a thumbnail of the first photo of the post to show with the excerpt. I would be grateful of any help.

I also feel it looks rather untidy and was wondering if anyone could suggest how to make it that each link shows in a block of colour or with a boarder, all the same size.

I am still having trouble with the fact that all posts are showing up in all categories. Is it necessary to have separate category template PHPs or is there a way round this. The code I have used so far is in the above post.

    Thanks

    Thank you.

I am starting to figure it out – slowly.

I am sure there are easier ways to do some of the things I want to have on the website but it is all about learning.

    Cheers
