  • Same problem here, we have no time to debug now, but in case nobody fix it we’ll do it and post here the solution.

Did you fix the problem? I’be got the same issue in 3 blogs, anyone found out the actual reason? Seems to be a WP core related vulnerability…

Did you fix the problem? The same issue is affecting two of my blogs too!

I fixed the problem, in the end, but just going over a new installation. I must say that I had upgraded (apparently) successfully from a 2.5.0 that was previously upgraded from an up-to-date 2.3, so the problem was introduced during the last upgrade process. Anyway, try this:

    0) backup everything (db and files)
    1) make a full export through /wp-admin/export.php
    2) install WP 2.5.1
    3) copy old files and plugins into the newly installed WP directory
    4) import the saved copy through wp-admin/import.php

    Worked for me.

I still hadn’t the chance to explore the code and (try to) fix the problem, but tailing my webserver logs I found out that the browser goes on posting the admin-ajax.php script while editing a page or an article:

    187.128.111.158 - - [29/Apr/2008:09:47:14 +0200] "POST /wordpress/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.1" 200 143 "https://www.ivan.agliardi.net/wordpress/wp-admin/post-new.php" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Iceweasel/2.0.0.14 (Debian-2.0.0.14-0etch1)"

The posts follow each other at the rate of about one per second. This didn’t happen in my previous installation and causes at least 3 kinds of trouble to me:

    1) Can’t upload/manage images
    2) Often can’t even save changes (the “save” button doesn’t work or need to be clicked a lot of times to save changes)
    3) Logs are messed up beause of those useless posts, distorcing web access statistics

I’m not sure it will, but I hope this can help you a little.

Same problem as the other people: after upgrading my 2.5.0 to 2.5.1 I’m not allowed to post images anymore. I mean I can’t upload images nor insert old ones (already uploaded) into posts. Consider that I’ve already done all of the things suggested in this page, but none of them fixed the problem. Well, it looks like this kind of feature wasn’t tested enough. Anyway, I’ll try to find out wich is the problem and post the solution right here. Maybe it depends on the platform I’m working with (Iceweasel for Debian GNU/Linux)… Anyone using the same?

Oops! I did it again ?? After upgrading WP from 2.5.0 to 2.5.1 I’m now experiencing the same trouble described above! Is there anybody going to try and tell me whether it is a trouble of mine or a real problem? Each time I click on the TAG CLOUD links mi browser gets crazy and shows me the RSS feed plugin application ?? Mumble mumble mumble…

    Thank you very much!

The point is that this behaviour is absolutely random, although it happens very often to me using different OSs and browsers. As soon as I’ll be able to take some screenshots I’ll post them somewhere. Thank you again for your answer, any other help will be appreciated.

    Bye bye,

    Ivan Agliardi
