I have WP Rocket installed but when the problem developed I guessed it was likely a caching issue. I have disabled it, renamed the folders, made sure it wasn’t working but still no success.

I’ll check the other plugins and try to identify the issue. Since no one else has raised the issue it must be my set up.

tizz and cais – thanks so much for this. you’ve both got me out of what I felt was a very deep hole. much appreciated – all working now.

Thanks tizz – it was set to a ‘Lightbox’ and ‘only apply to NextGEN images’ but the real clue was in the advanced settings which referred to a URL for the Stylesheet and Javascript that I deleted some weeks ago – doh. So that explains part of it. It still doesn’t seem to be as slick as it was and I can’t put my finger on why. But anyway, thanks for the heads up and the suggestion to look where I hadn’t – now working again. Thanks! z

This saga doesn’t seem to be going anywhere – I don’t have a sense that iThemes are on top of this – or even able to roll-back to something stable. I’m locked out of 10 sites so it looks like I will have to delete this plugin across all these sites and look for another security solution.

Additionally I found the new plugin interface very confusing and difficult to follow so will look for another solution.

This is a real shame for BWPS and iThemes – not recommended.
