Thanks for advice. In fact it was a maintenance problem with my hosting as they were doing something at their end. Nothing wrong with my WP installation.
I’d suggest people bumping into this kind of error to check first their server’s status via hosting control panel before messing up with the site. I was nearly to try to re-build the WP site to solve the problem whereas the problem was not within my site.

The problem is that once I change from 2 columns to 1 column the back-end is going to stay like that even after I switch back to 2 columns layout for article editing.

oooops, no answer, it seems that this is a bug naobody can fix. Switch to All in One SEO pack or similar ….

it will crash the site and a message comes up saying that the page isn’t redirecting properly…what have I’ve done wrong?

Thanks, it was a mistake, my blog is at https://blog.zimbrul.net. I’ve managed to find out the problem, it was a conflict between the theme I’ve used and the SEO plugin I’m using. Since I’ve changed the theme the title page behave normally

I’ve modified the <title> tag as instructed in Yoast plugin setup…will this cause a conflict with my current theme?
