go to your site root and delete the plugin buddypress from the folder /wp-content/plugins/

If not able to get to admin panel or even main page won’t load after automatic upgrade to WP 2.8, there is a very high change this behavior is caused by a plugin which was enabled at the time of the upgrade, but is not compatible with WP 2.8 code.

The problem is caused by one of your plugins who is not compatible with last WordPress release.
