Thank you for your reply. Yes, this solved the problem. ??
A colleague of mine forgot to change the OS keyboard input language to English, but switched it to our mother language. When set like this, it inserts the curly quotes instead of straight.

Thanks again for help, I lost my eyes trying to find the mistake. ??
