Are you sure for a background? I tried a couple of images and had to go quite large for a background. The one that I am playing with now is 2048×1536 and is 1.37 Mb, I am using a jpeg. Should I be using another file type?

I notice that height wise where the bottom of the image is it stops and the background color takes over so I guess I use a gradient at the bottom for the transition but do you know what an adeal width is?

Never mind, it finally took hold!

I put an image favicon.ico at the web root. Same level as wp-config.php and nothing ever changes. Driving me a little crazy!

I also went into wordpress editor and temporarily removed the line:

<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/favicon.ico” type=”image/x-icon” />

and then saved and the icon is still there. How do I get rid of the icon that looks like an rss feed.

Is this location with my host under my WP files or do I get to it through the editor in WP dashboard?

Thanks, where in root would I put it? I don’t see one in there now. Right now it is displaying an rss feed icon. Does it need to go in root under wordpress?

Does this also work for the top and footer or just the side bars?

Thanks for the replies. I am new to this and very puzzled. I am using a template Flexibility 3 in WordPress and it appears to me that the header, side bar and footer are global in nature, in other words what ever content, widgets, etc you use show identical on all pages, so you can’t design each page template different???

I hope I am wrong, it does not make much sense to me that you can’t have different stuff on different pages.

I am just getting started so please forgive me, I thought that if someone wanted to leave a comment there would just be a obvious place to put it but maybe that is not the function of a blog. Maybe it would be some other kind of widget.

So am I correct then that I do the posting and when people see my posts then they can comment?
