In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Any serious developer should avoid using thisHi @m_disseny,
My name is Zach and I manage the Plugins team here at Modern Tribe. First off, I want to thank you for the review — 1-star reviews make us sad, but I (and everyone else on the team) see them as an opportunity to get unfiltered feedback for how we can improve. This is something we take very seriously and are always working towards.
As for the “low quality programming”, I’d love to hear specifics on where you are seeing quality issues. We have numerous measures in place to constantly improve our quality. Our coding standards are well documented and enforced: https://moderntribe.github.io/products-engineering/ These are an extension of the general WordPress standards. All our releases go through a quality assurance process where changes are tested multiple times in different environments and scenarios before sending them to customers. Additionally, the team involved in all stages of development are highly qualified professionals. I list all this to assure you we are serious about quality. if you have specifics that we are missing here, we will actively work to improve further.
You mention “bad performance”. This is always a tricky topic. Lots of factors can contribute to performance issues (ex: volume of data, traffic, hosting, compatibility with other plugins). We have a knowledgebase article that directly addresses this and gives tips for handling scaling: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/performance-considerations/ I’d love to talk with you more if you are encountering limitations we aren’t yet aware of.
As for “lack of support”, we handle a large volume of free and premium support threads every day. If you could provide me with some links to examples that have left this bad impression, I will investigate them. We typically use a casual-tone in our support interactions, but frankly if you’ve interacted with Barry, I can’t imagine how you could have had a bad experience. He is indisputably fantastic.
Finally, I have to give a big pushback on “security vulnerabilities”. Like any product, we do occasionally find vulnerabilities or have them reported to us. We act on these with laser-focused attention. There are no known security vulnerabilities in our plugins.
We are a serious and professional organization that supports serious developers and anyone else who wishes to use our plugins. If you have specific recommendations on how we can approve, I will absolutely take those into consideration and appreciate your assistance in our continued growth.
Sincerely,
ZachForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Image Widget] Your AdsWe’ve been doing a few more iterations lately, so, that prompt is showing up for folks more than we’d normally expect. If it is starting to bug you, we certainly apologize. The great news is we’ve made it really easy for you to never get the reminder again!
Simply add this to your wp-config.php file and future updates won’t prompt you.

We appreciate our users and hope you continue to enjoy Image Widget for years to come!
BTW: we are _super_ proud of Image Widget Plus, you should totally check it out, sorry if we got too overzealous for you. ??

In reply to: [Image Widget] Select an image doesn’t workIn 4.4.2, we made changes to how we were loading resources. The intent was to fix compatibility with the Customizer. Unfortunately, as Tom indicated above, this has caused some compatibility issues we didn’t anticipate.
We have a fix for this in mind and we will have it available very soon.

In reply to: [Image Widget] Image Widget PlusThis question would be better for our Pre-Sales forum – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/forum/_welcome/pre-sales-questions/
That being said, I’m happy to help you out real quick. Are you looking for a different license level or are you looking just to buy more copies? If it is the latter, you should be able to adjust the quantity.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Installation problemsWe are currently experiencing a problem with our 4.4 release on Windows.
For the moment, you should be able to revert to the 4.3.5 version to avoid the problem.
We are hoping to get a fix soon, but we need to get our hands on a development Windows Server ??

We are still struggling to reproduce this. Which web server are you using? Is this Apache, IIS, something else?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Shortcode Not WorkingCurrently the only shortcode we have available for you is [tribe_mini_calendar] which is not likely to provide what you are hoping for.
With our upcoming 4.3 release, we have real shortcodes coming! That is coming very soon.
