    We agree ??

I got confused myself, because of the various installations. I contacted my host and I now understand everything as a combination of your help and theirs. Everything is fixed now.

    SO… ?? For the next step…

Now I′d like to have it all uploaded (i mean the Optimize Press 2 pages which I have created inside the external ftp / domain. These pages are just PART of the domain which actually are hosting a site by itself.

So I need the created pages, which I created with the OP2 plugin to be transferred to another domain.

So now the question is how to do that ??

    Sir Huff,

I understand your confusion. Allow me to explain:

Originally I had installed WordPress on my MAC as Localhost. But after having changed harddiscs to solid state, this installation did not get in on the new one. So i installed a new installation of WordPress (the one I have acces to now – through localhost)

Only one thing: This installation showed not to be necessary, since everything I had worked on from the beginning was uploaded and synced to the lunarpages server – the actual ftp where all my stuff recides.

And this is the one which don′t want to allow me access to the WP Dashboard for some reason, which still hasn′t been cleared up.

I have now succeeded to log into the ftp to the place where my stuff recides, and I just downloaded everything in the ADD-ON domain, which had been accociated with my MAIN domain on lunarpages. So now – I have everything downloaded and backed up on my MAC, currently.

The question still remains though, how I regain access to my WP Dashboard in this ftp and add-on domain. And how it stops reffering me to a third site on WIX, which has never been the goal.

But yes, I remember I made a NEW localhost installation of WordPress on my MAC. Only I didn′t make use of this one, when continuing building my Optimize Press pages.

So the whole bunch of pages is somewhere out there in cyberspace on a server. Lunarpages server. I presume. Which I cannot acces now – after having changed the permalinks / or after the automatic update.

Which one of them is the guilty one – I don′t know.

I just know that the site that were attached to my Optimize Press pages was hosted with Lunarpages and still is.

My website could not have been setup as a localhost. Since I don′t see anything that even reminds about the setup I had – in the localhost database. Even WordPress has not been updated for ages in there. And I had at least updated Wordpres to the latest minus one version.

So it could only have been made as an ftp. Only NOW – I can′t acces this. My host is Lunarpages.

Question is HOW to acces it. I′d really wish I could access the FTP right now. But even this is impossible – even with the right login… It′s all REALLY weird

    Sincerely,

By logging into Xampp, I see only 2 posts. And I had MANY more than that.

I don′t get how ALL my work can suddenly dissapear – just like that. I had saved everything – a billion times.

It seems like a whole new installation of wordpress has been done on top of the one I had.

    1. I have the Localhost WordPress database. Thats′the one Xampp connects to.

    2. I had the external website based Wordpres Database. That′s the one I can′t access now.

And would REALLY like to access. I HAD made backups. But not even the backup plugin I had used for this – is visible in the localhost database. So the RIGHT one MUST be hiding somewhere….

I really don′t hope I′ve lost all the hard 1000 of hours of work on about 20 Optimize Press pages that I′ve made ready for my new brand. That would be a disaster.

I know it′s somewhere in there… The question is just how to get back into them…

    (@zander11)

I see – but if I can′t even log into the right database? Because the one I just sent you, is not the one I have built everything inside.

Loging into the right one, just sends me to a wrong page with a 404 error now, but SHOULD really send me into the original WordPress Dashboard with all my created pages.

But I think – since I changed the permalinks – it now sends me to a WIX site, for some reason. And I just want to be able to log back into my Dashboard where I had everything made.

    Sincerely,
    Zander

I see inside the PhpMyAdmin, that the link is set to:

    https://localhost/local-wordpress

Which sounds right. Since this is where I installed the WordPress site. But it doesn′t say anything about either of the two sites to chose from, in order to correct the right one.

    Haha – I see.

So I haven′t lost anything? I really believe it′s still in there.

But I′m not able to make a backup. Or?… At least not from inside WordPress – untill I get in again. THEN I will make a backup ??

Can I make it before getting back in?

Question is how I log back into my Dashboard panel.

All I did was change the permalinks from one domain to another. And then the update at the same time.

    Now I′m lost.

Well, I am not even able to log into my ftp account, due to this mashup of links etc.

The links on one site points to another site. This is what is making this case so annoying.

    Sincerely,
    Zander

    (@zander11)

I see. And how do I “tick away” the Automatic update, so this annoying scenario doesn′t happen again?…

I certainly don′t hope that all my more than 6 months hard labour has vanished.

    Sincerely,
    Zander

Thanks a lot, Sterndata. I can′t login myself though FTP – I don′t know what has happened. But I will forward this line to my host:

    Thanks again.

    Sincerely,
    Zander
