I am also getting the same error,you can even see this error on live site footer area,
ITSystemAdmin(.com) and NamingZone(.com)
Its hosted on Hostgator, Also there is no reinstall option in Dashboard>Updates for WordPress 4.1
so something is wrong
Also akismet plugin is also not working given the same error and firewall blocking error
I TRIED Replacing the update.php file still the problem is same
