PS: In my Media Settings it states: “The sizes listed below determine the maximum dimensions in pixels to use when adding an image to the Media Library.” The maximum size is 1024 along the longest side – is this how it shows in the Library or does this refer to the actual maximum image size?

That’s something I haven’t tried. Will give that a go, thanks

Thanks Mac, but I’m not sure it’s an image size issue. With both of my old themes I could upload images of over 2MB. Since I’ve changed to a “premium” theme (and WordPress updated to 4.00) it does not seem to matter what size the image is. It won’t load. Or actually, it does load, but does not show the image in the library, just an icon. The image contains no data. I’m just tearing my hair out

    The error message is

“Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 33554432) (tried to allocate 4576 bytes) in /homepages/36/d68802725/htdocs/yohan./wp-includes/media.php on line 2053”

All my images have been reduced for the web (via photoshop) – max size on longest side is 1500px (which is considerably smaller than when I used to post images using a previous template). (I have tried reducing the size to 800px and that has no impact either, although that is too small for my site anyway).

I have deleted all files not being used on my site (both in the library and then using an ftp client to ensure they have been removed from the server).

I have changed a line in the wp-config.php file from 526mb to 1026mb and that also has had no impact.

Any advice (please keep it simple though) would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Ipstenu, thanks for the response and thanks for clearing that up. Understand it now. Cheers
