Well you can call the function directly and say “get sidebar” but even when I wrote a function for each sidebar it wouldn’t do it– I had to literally copy and paste all the code within the function of “get sidebar” into the main code for it to work. Every time I tried to simply say “get sidebar” it would give me an error.

The one thing that was most difficult was getting the divs to lay next to each other, as opposed to on top of each other– as soon as I was able to get it to sit right in one browser, it threw another one off. So I had to settle for sizing the divs.

But basically what I had to do to get it to sit right in ALL browsers, was the specify the size and layout of the divs– so the site doesn’t move relatively with window size and the divs do indeed overlap, but the client was okay with that (they weren’t so concerned about the site going mobile, as they were about being able to see the whole thing on any screen). I can send you the files if you want to look at them.

Something I found odd as well, was that I could call a function within the PHP without causing an odd error in the script. I had to actually pull the pieces of code out, and call them directly.

I was making some updates when you looked at it– that’s probably why it was unresponsive. I edited the CSS & the PHP — it wasn’t the ideal way to do it, but it worked. Working only with the PHP doesn’t work. I tried it a million times.

Well — depends on how permalinks are structured– and I edited the permalink to be custom on that page. To add back into the nav just drag in the page with the blank page name and click the little arrow to rename the Label associated with it.

Go to the Editor, then click Header.php… scroll down to where you see

I have an easy fix for this, that might not be great, but it works. I didn’t want my homepage to have the “home” header but I wanted to keep it in the navigation. So I saved my page without a name. Then I added it to the navigation and simply renamed the label to home. Works!
