You see, I’ve tried several plugins that shows to visitors my related posts. And all of them uses wordpress’ post thumbnail for displaying these related posts. Everything is OK with NextGEN’s “full size” pics and nothing shows when “singlepic” method for inserting images is used. I shall try to explain on example.

Only 2nd and 5th has real thumbnails, others has no thumbnails so my current “related posts” plugin uses it’s default thumbs. Let’s find what the difference between all these 5 posts? Here are the source code for all five:

From this I can see that when I insert NextGEN’s [singlepic] (or any gallery), WordPress’ engine cannot generate a thumbnail as it doesn’t see <img> tag.

That’s why my question is: is NextGEN able to generate post thumbnails automatically by itself (because manually, of course, I can choose any NextGEN picture when creating my post)? Or are there any plugin for NextGEN for bulk thumbnail generation for such posts (because I didn’t find any plugin that knows that [singlepic] is not a text, but a NextGEN’s image)?

Of course it’s NextGEN’s issue, but it’s the most popular gallery plugin for today. That’s why I asked if WPRP has support for it ?? Or maybe you can suggest any workarounds. I wrote to their support too, but they didn’t answered yet ??

The problem is that all plugins, that are showing “Related posts”, doesn’t see any preview picture in all my [singlepic] and gallery posts.

As all of them are using the standard wordpress’ post thumbnails, I suggested that the problem is that NextGEN doesn’t generate them.

So I’ve tried a couple of plugins that generates post thumbnails for all my existing posts using the 1st picture in post. They also doesn’t consider NextGEN’s singlepics and galleries as picture posts ??

Are there any workaround for this issue? Thanks.

I didn’t find in the documentation: are there any option to insert “more” tag ? Or how can I do it manually? Everything else seems worth to buy a Pro version!
