In reply to: Informations about translating themesWPML is plugin that saves you time by duplicating the pages, post and taxonomies so that you don’t have to go about duplicating everything – but it does not translate content. You (or somebody in your team) will need to make the translations. However I must say that it really saves a lot time and effort. See their web site for better explanation.
Once again: My experience with the plugin was good.

In reply to: Just starting with ftp, not sure how it worksJust to avoid confusion: When you say no folders exists, Are you talking about the original theme folder or the child theme folder? (both should reside under /wp-content/themes)

In reply to: Informations about translating themesIn my experience WPML was enough. Can you be more specific on what makes you think it’s not enough? Maybe a topic based discussion would be better ok this one.

In reply to: Exporting and importing usersRodrigo, you are right: This is a manual process. However this is the only built-in functionality I could find in WP.
That’s why I suggested you probably need to search for a third party plugin for to deliver the exact functionality you need. I know WP engineers are scanning the conversations here in forums so they may have picked up the subject to review or maybe respond to you separately – I am just a user that is trying to be helpful ??
One more idea: I don’t know the context of your project but have you checked the official WP plugin BuddyPress? That one is a community management / engagement tool that may offer more user management options.

In reply to: Exporting and importing usersI believe I’ve found a solution: The network admin users page lists all users that have registered, regardless of which subdomain they registered from. For those you want to give access to other subdomains you need to add them to those specific domains by using the “add existing user” option on the add user page.

In reply to: Exporting and importing usersI tried this on a multisite I operate and the answer is mostly no: The user can login from any subdomain in the network but they land in the admin page of whichever domain they registered on.
So YES: The user database is shared. And NO: They cannot login to access the admin page of other subdomains.
I am not 100% sure but I’m pretty confident that you need some sort of a member/user management plugin for this purpose. I’ll keep looking into this though – this is an interesting one…

In reply to: Exporting and importing usersTechnically all sites (under a multisite network) use the same database – hence when you export users you will have exported all users from all subdomains.
For the second point, you will probably need a plugin that allows you to grant different levels of access in different subdomains. There are plenty of member – user plugins available. Try to search one that supports multisite.
I hope that helps.

In reply to: Small image preview on front page from post page“I had to go systematic through every single meny item “ – I’m sure that has been a very valuable experience for you ?? Well-done!..

In reply to: Small image preview on front page from post pageIt is difficult to say without examining the theme your are using but in most themes there are customisation options for the front page that may include settings on how your posts look on the front page. Please start from there to dig into what kind of customisation your theme allows you to do (look specifically for setting about image display).
Are you using your a single page for the front page or have you set it up to show your latest blog posts?

In reply to: Small image preview on front page from post pageWordpress usually keeps different sizes of the same image to be used for different purposes. If your original image was large enough to be used in the front page you should be able to locate that version in your media section.
Also: Where exactly do you want to use the image on the front page? Can you provide an url of your site so we can see how your front page looks initially?

In reply to: Dashboard hangs when clicking anythingIn my experience, Internal server errors are mostly host related. Did you try asking them?
Also I’d suggest you to try to switch to a one of the standard wordpress theme and see if the problem still persists. If it does not, then you may want to re-install / update your current theme.

In reply to: Post not being shared to social media linksSee https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/ to find out on how to set it up properly. It may look slightly different if you are on a self hosted site vs the wordpress.com site but the functionality should be similar.

In reply to: Post not being shared to social media linksOK. No worries ?? In my opinion you have two options: Either go back to your online course and try to remember where it mentioned the social sharing solution. Or look into your theme settings & plugins page to find out where the sharing function is.
You probably will be better off if you check out your theme settings as a first step, many have a way to let you share your posts socially. Let me know how you get on with that..Forum: Fixing WordPress
