Not sure if this known IE10 ajax posting bug recently uncovered has anything to do with select box problem. The select boxes have ajax right before them on the page in the demo.

Bug discussion ref: https://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/12790#comment:22 and https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11235613/jquery-ajax-post-not-working-ie10. It seems this partially affects earlier installs of win8 and not the later installs.
