BTW, Thanks for remembering me. I dropped the whole idea with the project I had been working on. But I can definitely see it as a useful thing to have. I’ll be sure to let you know if I do ever find something!

The navigation you’re looking for is called “Faceted Navigation” or “Guided Navigation” (https://www.alistapart.com/articles/design-patterns-faceted-navigation/)- I’ve been trying to find a way to implement this myself, but as of yet there does not seem to be any plugins – I’m sure it can be done, you might have to find a programmer to do it though.

You need to use the “exclude” within the gallery shortcode – see Gallery Shortcode.

Edit the html gallery short code to look like this:

[gallery exclude="21,32,43"]

The numbers belong to the images that you do not want to include.

The only way that I know of to find the “number” of the image was to actually insert the image (that you want to remove from the gallery) into the post/page and then look at the advanced settings (of that image) and you’ll see something that looks like “wp-image-655” – the number you want is there. (btw, you’ll then want to remove that image from the page)

If anyone knows a better way to find this number, I would love to hear it!
