In reply to: blog by email – login name with characterI just upgraded to the newest version. Now it accepts the settings, and nothing appears in green, but it still doesn’t seem to be checking the email account in question or posting the stuff sent to it. Is there an on/off switch somewhere in there that I’m missing?

In reply to: blog by email – login name with characterI tried deactivating both plugins, but to no avail.

In reply to: blog by email – login name with characterI suppose it’s possible, but the only plugins I’m running are Akismet 2.1.8 and WordPress Automatic Upgrade 1.2.2. Are there any known compatibility problems with these two (vs. WordPress 2.61)?

In reply to: blog by email – login name with characterI tried that, too, but it also didn’t work. I then tried setting up an account on a different server where I could log in simply as foo. It still won’t change the setting to what I input. Now I’m having the same problem for the email address under General Settings – I keep changing it to [email protected] and it keeps changing it back to Xrlq, again in green.

In reply to: Get WordPress to shut up about new versionDitto on my end. In my case, it was a completely redundant directory on Bluehost called public_html. I had always assumed that this was the physical directory where the files are stored, and that www was a symbolic link to it, but apparently not.

In reply to: Get WordPress to shut up about new versionI’m having the same problem on my blog at xrlq.com.

In reply to: CPU quota exceeded errorsLovely. I’m getting that problem too, ever since I switched <i>to</i> Bluehost because WordPress advertised it as a supposedly WordPress-friendly site.

In reply to: RSS Feed – Fatal errorThanks!

In reply to: RSS Feed – Fatal errorI deleted and replaced the wp-includes directory in its entirety, but the net effect was to replace one error message with another.

In reply to: WP2.0 not sending TrackbacksI just tried that myself, but it didn’t work – at least not on a post that had been created before. Does post.php only run when you publish new entries? If so, should the same two lines be added to some other file, e.g., edit.php?

In reply to: WordPress ignoring permalink structureRyan’s plugin to force the verbose rewrite rules appears to have worked. Is that the permanent solution, or is there a way to make the newer rules work instead now that we’ve isolated the problem?

In reply to: WP says “no comments” while displaying commentsI take that back – it DID fix the problem, it just didn’t show up until the next comment was posted.

In reply to: WP says “no comments” while displaying commentsI do, and just like the person who started that thread, I upgraded to 2.1 but saw no changes. I also noticed that entries that preceded the upgrade display the number of comments that existed at the time of the upgrade.

In reply to: Comment Count not appearingActually, almost the same problem but not quite. My pre-upgrade entries have a comment count, but it’s stuck at the number of comments prior to the upgrade.
