    Hi

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

My dilemma is I need the current theme (MesoColumn) with its features, which I am using on different sites as well.

So I will wait, but just hope it will not take too long into 2015 for the new version to come out. ??

    Thanks again & regards

I thought I might just mention this:

I informed the bbpress support person, who has been helping find a solution from that side about the above change & mentioned that code. His response:

… sort of see what he has changed (essentially the code was executing for a page which bbpress is and he’s essentially limited it to categories). Chances are that it won’t affect anything else.

… which I think is reassuring because they think the code is unlikely to

    introduce other problems

    Hi
    Great!
I made that change, but I think that file is located in /php/class/ & it definitely changes the state things. ??
I will try to look around and see if it affects anything on the site (in which case, I will update you) but do hope I can now plan to go online with the site soon.

    Once again many, many thanks.

    Small update:

Probably a solution was not meant to be part of 0.7.3, but I just crosschecked all the same, just in case – so please take your time.
The RPR category/categories spaces,as opposed to other blog categories in Mesocolumn remain blank on front page, if corresponding settings under “Home Settings” is activated.

The “Add media” buttons in 0.7.3 help make it much more flexible for adding images & other media.

    Thank you! ??

    Hi

So I installed the update & there are some changes as said in a separate post, including the addition of the “add media” buttons, e.g. which make it more flexible.
Regarding the bbpress forum issue, a change I can see is the newly created forums if you go to the homepage are not loaded as new blog posts.

For the main problem, though, it is still there.
If you go to /forums, you have the the blog posts archive shown, which includes newly created forums listed as “posts”, in addition to other “normal” posts. Screenshot => here.

If I disable the recipepress reloaded module, you get for exactly the same url => this. A separate site having the bbpress module, shows this to be the normal output for /forums (default/recommended set up), => here.

There is no problem if go to the url of a specific forum. The problem is the main forum page /forums.

    Probably something more to tweak?

    Thank you & kind regards

    Hi

I certainly will wait, since I very much need both plugins.
If /forums with the recipe plugin installed & accessible at /recipes shows at least an empty forum (if u did not create any) & does not load the blog archive content at that url instead, then there’s certainly been a big move towards the solution.

    Many thanks & kind regards

    Hi

    Just an update
I described the recent findings in bbpress forum & asked if they could help find a way out, or if there was a way I could configure the forum in such a way, that the conflict is avoided.

This is what the moderator said:

I’ve just tried having both these plugins on my test site, and can see exactly what you mean, my forums become archive posts just as yours did, and I’m using a shortcode so that way won’t work.

So definite conflict between how these two forums are using slugs, and I suspect that the recipe one is overwriting a forum one, but don’t know how, possibly via a filter on wordpress.

I’d suggest since the recipe plugin author will have far better knowledge (as he has slug settings in his plugin) that you go back with a fresh post, and explain that on a base theme (mine was twentyten) with just bbpress and his plugin and nothing else

https://www.mysite.com/forums takes you to blog archives page

and see what he comes back with

He apparently confirms my observation, though I think his mentioning the possible source of the conflict could be useful in locating & solving it.

    Hi
    Thank you for the response.

The problem is the specific Drupal site is being discontinued & the content merged with that of another site (WP) that has among other things an excellent web directory plugin, for which there is no similar Drupal equivalent module, etc.

I will check out the changes in plugin when you release it & I think they definitely provide more options & flexibility. I have tried all possible WP recipe plugins & think this is the best for my needs.

A lightbox plugin solved the requested feature issue.

Many thanks for your support ??

    Just some ideas …

The Drupal CMS solution I am coming from is structured differently.
The module itself does not offer image & other media components, because Drupal CMS itself allows you to choose the media modules you prefer & allows you to add them wherever you want on a page.

So you do not have the equivalent featured image as such.
In my case, I used an image solution that allows you to place a single image or a gallery, with thumbnails below the description & above ingredients. One can however shift everything, including the location of the description (eg below image location, etc) with a few clicks.

I placed the video field at the bottom. An example of this on a Drupal site is here.
I have tried to implement this on WP & this plugin for this specific recipe here (link bound to change in near future).

In this specific one, I had to place the one pic with ingredients at step 1 … & in other cases, I have just had to say for example “These are the ingredients we shall use” & turn it into a “step” for the sake of having a pretext to place the pictures there … or if say you have a few pics of a variation of a result, etc.

A gallery like option, would allow you to place several pícs without having to say much.
In this case, if it does not fit into the structure, an option for additional pictures (if available & not necessarily ingredients, etc) could be placed below Notes & if all is too much, a text field with the Add media buttons down the page, to allow one to include some if deemed necessary.

Regarding the video, I am using the Spider Video Player module to embed code at the bottom of “Notes”, but I think that is OK, because it does not obviously appear to be part of them at the frontend & the output looks like that on the Drupal site, where the media field is separate & placed at the bottom of the page.

    Feature request/suggestion:
The step images if clicked, open the image on a separate page. Is it possible that these open in a pop-up or some form of colorbox/thickbox without having to leave the page?

My 2 cents, no hurry regarding implementation where possible.

    Hi

I am actually using “PHP Code for posts” for some script that pulls content from an external source at the above mentioned second link to “Give away of the day” pages.

I did however deactivate it & did not notice a difference.

The /recipe/ page recipe teasers seem to be the same before & after & generally, I am satisfied with the output.

Similar excerpts appear on the site frontpage IF posts are listed normally the WP-way, like if you use another theme and same with MesoColumn theme, everything OK, except if one changes to the specific MesoColumn theme setting where you have only the set number of newest posts per selected category being posted on the frontpage.

Here, even with the “PHP Code for posts” deactivated, the “Recipe” category teaser of what in other posts is the latest post is empty.

I hope this is what you were meaning …

    (@xprt007)

    Well, OK …

Supposing one would like to embed a connected recipe video, which I think is not a farfetched idea or add some picture of some other aspect of a recipe, like a picture of all & not necessarily individual ingredients, or additional picture of the result …?

Currently migrating recipes from an existing Drupal CMS site (recipe module) and was having the dilemma of where to place some of the content.

Would be great if there were equivalent options, but if not, then probably one just has to conform, ?? …

Thank you for the otherwise great plugin

I forgot to mention the PHP version is: 5.4.34

    Hi
Thank you for the quick response.
I can certainly wait for the next release to see if it makes a difference.
I checked out the WordPress errorlog & it has only 6 lines with such code:

[15-Oct-2014 19:55:26 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '>' in /home2/abc/public_html/abcd.com/ha/wp-content/plugins/php-code-for-posts/PHPPostCode.php(59) : eval()'d code on line 3

Or would changing to debug mode help?

Oh errorlog of server? If thats what I have in the Cpanel (shared host)
” Your Current IP is: xx.xxx.xxx.xxx
You may cross reference errors in the Main Error Log containing this IP to determine errors associated with your website.

Please Note: The MAIN error_log is a shared log meaning that errors from all websites hosted on the server will be displayed as well as those for your website, be sure to reference your IP when searching this log.

    Error Logs
[Mon Dec 1 12:01:19 2014] CURRENT SERVER TIME
    MAIN error_log:
    ….
    …. “

Where can I send it? (If you used the contact form at the FIRST site referred to above …aspect.. & sent me your email, I would send what I have copied & pasted in a .txt file. Site is German, :(, but not hard to figure out page. ) … or is there a better way?

    Thank you & regards
