I can see how we might add this as an option but if the page is not published and publicly available it should not really feature in your sitemap as typically search engines would get an error page e.g. 404 not found.

If the post is publicly available but just not in the main navigation this would work but I’m not sure how useful this would be as it could look like an orphaned page. That said it might take google a while to work that out.

You should be able to exclude authors from the main admin settings page.
Authors should have an $exclude so I think there is something amiss here.
I’ll investigate and get back to you.

Sometimes it can be another plugin overwriting the robots.txt file.

Are you able to access your sitemap file?
Would you be able to share your website address / robots file to take a quick look please?

It might be possible to quite easily add a checkbox to the settings page to disable it for custom post types if that is what you were thinking?

We do not support this, but I will add it to the wish list.

There is no option to include a category , but exclude its child pages/posts. This is a feature we could consider. There may be a work around for you ….

If you set “Posts inheritance” to “do not inherit”, the pages/posts will keep their original settings.

By default they will be included because this is what is configured by default in the general settings page.

To exclude pages/posts you could do this individually or set up a tag.

The tag should be setup to exclude items from the sitemap and “Posts inheritance” to “inherit”.
Any pages / posts you add this tag to would then be excluded.

Great, just remember if you update the plugin it will overwrite the changes.
