In reply to: Ban a specific user?I’d love to find a way to ban some also. Spammers are registering and I can’t find an IP unless they post and can’t ban them…its often the same ones being deleted and re-registering.
Has anyone come up with a way to ban a user by IP, email address, domain?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Forbidden Error w/404I’m lost. This thing will NOT let me post and I’m completely out of ideas. I have upgraded to WordPress 2.6, but something is blocking me from posting. The error message is the same.
Sometimes, it will allow me to post very small bits, a line or two, but anything more than that generates the error message.
I’ve tried saving the post and modifying it, I’ve tried to generate a new post and edit a scheduled or existing post, but continues to generate the error message.
I’m running a PC. XP Pro.Anyone out there have a similar experience or have any ideas? THANK YOU.

In reply to: Forbidden Error w/404I’m able to change the time of the post and delete words or characters from the post, but the above error message occurs whenever I try to add to the post.
I had a friend sign on from another computer and he was able to access and edit, but I still cannot edit or create a new post from my PC or any machine in our home network.
I’ve cleared my cache, tried my laptop via wireless, rebooted my modem, cleared all cookies, history, temp files, etc., but still generate the same error.Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas?

In reply to: Forbidden Error w/404yes…we set up /test for an update over the winter and then just use that as the forward domain now.
Everything worked fine until a couple days ago, as I post regularly. Suddenly, on Friday morning, I started getting this error message when attempting to post.

In reply to: 403 ForbiddenI am getting the same error when trying to post. Please help if anyone has managed to resolve.
Here is the error message, if it helps:

In reply to: People can’t log in…….(problem)I’m also a relative newby to blogging, and I’m having a similar problem in that my blog is set up under a frame address (so my “normal” URL stays in the address bar, not the host address). Unfortunately, unless users open the login in its own window (showing the host address), they can’t sign in. Is there a solution to this w/o losing the correct address in the address bar?

In reply to: WordPress database errorWe’re getting an error message on our sites as well. Anyone else? It’s saying:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
