It’s not easy. You’d actually have to replace the default images we use in the plugin with the same names.
We try to come up with good abstract default images but it’s hard to get a good set.

that font size entirely depends on your WordPress theme. Having said that, you can easily change it with some custom CSS in our plugin.

most of the time those images appear for posts that don’t have an image associated with it. I see going back and fixing the faulty posts as the only way to get the thumbnails to have non-default images.

Featured images are a weird case since they can be used for variety of ways (inserted in the post, or just attached). When it’s inserted into a post we surely add the credits. We can’t account for how the site uses the Featured image though.

it’s true that we have been in violation of terms with WordPress. The plugin was removed on Saturday, we fixed it so it no longer violates the terms. It is now back.

Just to clear up, our plugin is very optimized for speed. It really should not slow your site down.
