Thank you Wasim. I am using the latest wocoommerce and the display settings moved to customize panel and are no longer under PRODUCT>DISPLAY. It lets me only adjust the MAX WIDTH for thumbnail and single product page and the rest is done automatically. There is no HEIGHT adjustment. There hast to be another solution
