Same problem for my site. Personal VPS, CentOS5, Apache 2.2, MySQL 5x.
Removed all caching plugins.

Error:

“Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

Operation timed out after 15050 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”

So choose “yes” to display the short url and twitter link. But I don’t know where to find them.

I am having a problem with the WP widget. When I login to the site using Facebook or Twitter (the only two I have activated), the popup window comes up that connects me. After getting logged in via either site, the small popup window doesn’t go away, instead my site loads in that small window as well.

How can I get the plugin to work as I have saw on other sites, where the pop up window authenticates the login, then closes?

BTW- This worked correctly at one time.

I’ve tried switching themes too, about a dozen times…

That worked in IE6, and FF, but not IE7.

My entire blog looks messed up in IE7.
