In reply to: Having a problem with a new installationI had to ask the web hosting company about this and they seemed to fix the problem and I was able to install wordpress. Now I have another problem. After I log on, I see the directory of the admin area. Please advise.

In reply to: Slider URL settings problemI have to confess, I was not the only developer that worked on this. I had someone else set this up for me. I am used to other CMS systems but me, and a business partner were in a rush and so we hired some guy to set this up for us.
It looks like it is called wooslider. in the dashboard, it is called “SlideShowes” but I can see when I mouse over the settings it is called “wooslider” from an information bar at the bottom.
Now, I looked online and I noticed that the documentation does not say how to set the URL
https://docs.woothemes.com/document/wooslider/I also found a youtube video “WooCommerce Home Page Image Slider Setup”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPH-HOKTkAY but it shows a “Woo Store” which is lacking on my web site dashboard which only shows “WooCommerce” and then “Slidshows” as seperate.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Brand new to templatesNothing?
I can pick from the ones that are there, according this one, and use it. What do you suggest we do to approach the problem of not being able to upload new themes. This was a round-about way of getting a theme onboard so I can use it though.
It is there. Yee-haw.
Matthew, that is interesting. So I do an FTP replace of all the php and css code related to the theme? Is that what you mean?
Mika, I turned off all the plugins and I still could not see any options on the upload theme page.
I guess that is the next step to do. But, before we jump into this, let me ask a few questions.
#1. The tech support I chatted with from the hosting provider suggested there might be some setting she needs to do on the back end. What might that be?
#2. If I can install plug ins and do everything else, why can’t I try manually configuring a theme? Is it possible to do that?
If these questions don’t lead to success, I guess it is time to reinstall the whole thing once more.
OK, I can install plug in’s after all
I just cannot see any themes
It is WordPress 3.9.2.
I can make a page. I can make a post.
When I try to upload a plug in zip file I get this:Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, root and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I can change settings.
This is the second time I have installed on the web site. The first time, I forgot the admin password and I completely reinstalled wordpress and had the web hosting provider zero out the database. I suspect maybe I should be talking to them. Is that right?

In reply to: I cannot upload a wordpress themeHas anyone had a situation where they were unable to load a theme? Has anyone encountered a similar situation. Is it a memory issue on the server? Should I uninstall everything and start over?
