In reply to: [Autoptimize] Probelms activating AOHeh.
Yes, I was about to post a message along the lines of, “I installed your plug-in and now my car won’t start”.
But I noticed in time that it wasn’t your plug-in, it was a certain other party’s caching software that was the problem.
Thanks for the quick reply anyway.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] Problem with installationI shoudl add that I followed these steps:
Turn off caching on the plugin settings page and clear the cache.
Deactivate the plugin on the plugins page.
Remove the WP_CACHE define from wp-config.php. It looks like define( ‘WP_CACHE’, true );
Remove the Super Cache mod_rewrite rules from your .htaccess file.
Remove the files wp-content/advanced-cache.php and wp-content/wp-cache-config.php
Remove the directory wp-content/cache/
Remove the directory wp-super-cache from your plugins directory.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: Error Installing WordPress Theme@sf The problem does seem to be on the server side. Send your hosting company a message including the error and see what they say. I manually updated one of the sites, but the errors remained. I am now upgrading the servers.

In reply to: Error Installing WordPress ThemeI had this problem and my hosting service recommended that I back everything up and install a new instance of WP and then import all the content. Then direct the domain name to this new site.
Gulp.

In reply to: What should I do with "index.html.old" files? It looks as though it was an issue with caching software.
The solution was to disable the caching software and then scan the site for malware, followed by emptying the cache in case anything undesirable was lurking in there.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall] Scan speedHi.
I disabled it, and the scan of wp-content took about 30 minutes – quite a difference! It turned up two known threats and cleaned them.
All good!
Thanks again.

In reply to: What should I do with "index.html.old" files? Thanks for the prompt replies. I’m having trouble with the malware scans, so I’ve put any actions on hold while I try to work that one out.
If I find a solution I’ll drop by again with a conclusion.

In reply to: [MaxFlat Core] Issue with commentsHi. I’m having the same problem. Also, comments made on one post seem to be attributed to other posts.
Apart from that it’s a great theme: clean, fast and modern.

In reply to: Common Problem : Sidebar pushed to bottom on blog pageI have a similar problem at https://cannes-or-bust.com
I write the posts directly in the HTML field (WP 3) without adding divs. Yet this is a persistent problem even when I change templates and no when I add new posts.
It’s very frustrating. I ran the site through a validator and got no less than 110 errors, even though I’m using a premium (paid-for them).

In reply to: GHost pagesI couldn’t take it in the end, and affected changes on all the pages and gave them a fixed order. I also activated WP-cache. It seems to have done the trick (if a trick it was). I’m none the wiser but the problem seems to have gone away.
