In reply to: [PDF Embedder] MIME stopping Embedder WorkingHi @sjo007,
Sorry about the issues with latest update. The developers are investigating the issue. If you have a back up copy, you can rollback to that version. If you don’t have a backup copy, please go ahead and update your plugin to version 5.0.1.
The 5.0.1 version is the exact same copy as the previously working Premium 4.4.3 / Secure 4.4.5. We reuploaded the older, working version and only updated the version number to make it easier to do the update, but the code is identical to what you were previously using prior to the 5.0.0 update.
Important: once you update the plugin, please flush any caches on your site and the browser, then reload the page where you have the embedded PDF.
If you are a Premium or Secure user and are still encountering an issue after updating to 5.0.1 AND flushing your site and browser caches, please let us know by sending us an email to [email protected].

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] copyright messageHi @farfan11,
No version of the PDF Embedder will alter the original document so if you wish to display a copyright message on the document, you would need to add that prior to uploading it to your site.
If you do not want to permit downloading, the PDF Embedder Secure version can be used to display a watermark which could contain your copyright information. Again, this is not added to the original document and would not be retained on download, but it will appear over the embedded PDF should someone screenshot your document.
A watermark that is visible after download would either need to be added to the document prior to being uploaded to your site or you may need to use another plugin that can add a watermark to a PDF after “purchase” (price could be $0), for example. Some other plugins that would work in this manner would be:

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Pdf embedderHi @thagouch6,
Please send us an email to [email protected] with the email address you used to purchase the license (or your license key) so we can look up the status of your license. I am unable to determine the status based on your URL and/or WP handle.
Please be assured that if someone did steal your license key, it would not cause the functionality of your site to stop working; however, an out of date plugin could be the cause as well as changes to your server. We can help determine that once we can review your license status via email.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] ADA ComplianceHi @justanothernerd,
The embedded viewer can be navigated using a mouse or by keyboard presses (https://wp-pdf.com/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-for-full-screen-mode/). The embedded document can also be read by some screen readers—other users have used the plugin successfully with JAWS.
My best suggestion for ensuring the plugin can also allow PDFs to be read through a screen reader would be to also embed a direct link to the PDF, beneath the PDF Embedder view of the file, so that screen readers can jump straight to the PDF itself instead of accessing the file via the viewer. This method would negate the ability to secure the PDF.
We are working on additionals features to make the embedded documents more accessible.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Error while loadingHi @asitaaa,
The issue you are having is due to the cache running on your site. Caching is frequently not run for the logged in admin so you can see the changes you make to the site; however, it does run on the front end for the regular / non-logged in visitor which is what you are seeing when you log out. To rectify this error, you will need to exclude the plugin URIs for the plugin scripts from the caching tool: https://wp-pdf.com/kb/using-caching-or-minifying-plugins/
The plugin scripts are already minified so you will not be losing any efficiency or load speed by excluding them. Be sure to flush any caches after you exclude the scripts so that they can be loaded by the site again and the embed viewer should be displayed correctly once this has been done.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] PDF will now preview in some browsersHi @steffrose16,
The PDF Embedder plugin will work in all major browsers and works on PC/Mac/mobile device operating systems. The default behaviour of the plugin is to embed the document in a readable format without requiring the site visitor to click on a link first in order to open the PDF in the viewer.
The plugin does not currently support a sidebar navigation. This feature is in the works for an update to the paid versions of the plugins. The sidebar navigation can be turned on|off in the plugins settings and on a case by case basis.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Twenty Twenty Theme Margins IssueHi @andrewsheard,
We are currently in the final testing stages on a major update which does include a compatibility fix for the TwentyTwenty theme. Our current projection for releasing the update is within the next week or two barring any major issues we find during our testing review.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Turn off Watermark for some pdfsHi @jytan,
There isn’t currently a shortcode to toggle the watermark on or off; however, we are working on a major update to the plugin and will take a look if we can add it to the upcoming release. If we can’t get it in to the release, we will add it to the list for the next.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Some pages won’t loadHi @mattiassvensson,
The most common reason for this is the document timing out due to file size (your document is 15.28 MB). I did see that page 5 didn’t load; however, on my test, page 6 did. As you noted, the document does show up in its entirety if you resize the browser window which triggers the loading process and the missing “chunk” of the document is retrieved.
An easy fix would be to compress the document to a smaller file size using a free service such as https://www.ilovepdf.com/. This will save data and decrease the loading time for your users in any case. Using moderate compression, I was able to reduce your file size to 1.96 MB (88% reduction!) without any significant loss of resolution on the appearance of the document.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Testing with the newest version of wordpressHi @jetk,
The plugin has been tested successfully on our end with the latest version of WP and we will be pushing an update soon to update the “tested with” statement.
Can you please disable the option to combine JS files specifically in the front end optimization screen and also check the plugin’s settings and disable / uncheck the option to “Remove Query Strings from Static Resources” option. Once those settings have been adjusted, flush the cache, and try loading the site again. Caching and combining JS has been known to be an issue with other caching tools.
You will also need to check that your mobile caching is not set differently from the desktop as this will result in the desktop version working and the mobile version fails.
If you are unable to disable the combine JS settings, the alternative would be the specifically exclude the PDF Embedder scripts and this would require that you dip into some PHP coding to do so. An example of the code you would need to add to the functions.php is as follows—you may require assistance from the SiteGround support to apply this to your site:
add_filter( 'sgo_javascript_combine_exclude', 'js_combine_exclude' ); function js_combine_exclude( $exclude_list ) { $exclude_list[] = 'pdfemb_embed_pdf_js, pdfemb_pdf_js'; return $exclude_list; } add_filter( 'sgo_js_minify_exclude', 'js_minify_exclude' ); function js_minify_exclude( $exclude_list ) { $exclude_list[] = 'pdfemb_embed_pdf_js, pdfemb_pdf_js'; return $exclude_list; } add_filter( 'sgo_css_combine_exclude', 'css_combine_exclude' ); function css_combine_exclude( $exclude_list ) { // Add the style handle to exclude list. $exclude_list[] = 'pdfemb_embed_pdf_css'; return $exclude_list; } add_filter( 'sgo_css_minify_exclude', 'css_minify_exclude' ); function css_minify_exclude( $exclude_list ) { // Add the style handle to exclude list. $exclude_list[] = 'pdfemb_embed_pdf_css'; return $exclude_list; }

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Disable zoom option from toolbarHi @ace63,
You can hide the zoom buttons and text with a bit of CSS.
/* HIDE ZOOM BUTTONS AND TEXT */ .pdfemb-zoomin, .pdfemb-zoomout, .pdfemb-zoom, .pdfemb-toolbar div:nth-of-type(2) { display: none; /* may need to add !important */ }
This rule can be added to the Appearance ? Customize ? Additional CSS field.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] multiple tab rezize on same pageHi @leguennecj,
I took a look at the link provided, thank you for that. I saw embedded PDFs in the 12V, 24V, and 48V tabs. In all cases, the embedded documents are loading at the full width of the tabbed content area. If you are not seeing that, can you please flush and do a hard reload of your browser. It is likely that the previous code was cached and not loading the revised version that prompted the recalculation of the tabs.
