    Hi piratessovates,

The PDF Embedder Secure prevents a user from accessing the document via the direct URL. Please see https://wp-pdf.com/secure/ for more information.

    Hi trevpaq,

Thank you for the suggested fix. I will forward that information to the developers for further testing and consideration.

    Hi trevpaq,

The security reason is the Same-origin policy that is a cornerstone of the web application security model that has been implemented in all web browsers since 1995 as a means to prevent malicious content from being passed from one domain to another.

According to the Same-origin policy, NNN.ca is not the same as NNN.com is not the same as NNN.co is not the same as NNN.org. These are all different domains even if they are pointed at the same physical server location, as such the data can not be sent without permission. It isn’t feasible for the plugin to have a setting to retrieve data from another domain as the Same-origin policy requires that the permission be set on the origin the content is stored, and not the origin of the request. For this reason, many sites use CDNs such as Amazon S3 which facilitates cross-origin requests through CORS configurations.

For more information, please drop us an email at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to assist further.

    Hi cbasilio,

This error comes up if you have a caching and/or minifying plugin on your site that has cached the previous version of the plugin scripts and now does not match with the updated plugin. To rectify this error, you need to clear the cache and allow the site to reload the scripts.

To prevent this error from occurring again in the future, you would need to exclude the following paths from your site’s cache and/or minifying plugin (these are the paths for the FREE version of the plugin – they will differ slightly if you have the Premium or Secure version of the plugin):

    • /wp-content/plugins/pdf-embedder/js/all-pdfemb-basic.min.js,
    • /wp-content/plugins/pdf-embedder/js/pdfjs/pdf.min.js, and
    • /wp-content/plugins/pdf-embedder/js/pdfjs/pdf.worker.min.js

Once you have excluded these paths, flush the cache and reload the page; the error should now be gone.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please could you send this to our support team on [email protected] where they will be happy to help. We aren’t able to pick up replies on the forum here so would be better able to provide support to you via our email.
