In reply to: [PDF Embedder] PDF rendered as imageHi nicola883,
The PDF Embedder does render the document as the PDF filetype and not as an image; however, text search and select is currently not supported. This is a feature that the developers are looking to add in a future update.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us [email protected] as we aren’t able to pick up replies on the forum here.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] is possible include PDF embedded link in a woocomerce product?Hi bruky,
You can obtain the direct URL of the PDF by navigating to the uploaded file via the Media Gallery. You can do this directly via the Product Data General > Downloadable Files > Choose File dialogue. Alternatively, you can open the Media Gallery directly in another browser tab, select the PDF then copy and paste the File URL.
You can also embed the PDF using the shortcode in the product description area (top default WP content field) or into the product short description field. Both will support the shortcode.
If you require further assistance or clarification, please send us an email to [email protected] and I can elaborate (with screenshots!).

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] shortcode to force “side by side”Hi Darryl,
Without the float property added in that tutorial, the text content would sit below the embedded PDF in a vertical orientation just like you are currently experiencing with your page. The float property allows subsequent content to flow around the media object so would allow the other embedded PDFs to pull up into a horizontal layout. Please see the following for more examples and explanation of the float property: https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_class_float.asp

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] shortcode to force “side by side”Hi dreubens81,
We have a tutorial available on how to wrap content around the embedded viewer available here in our FAQ: https://wp-pdf.com/kb/wrapping-content-around-an-embedded-pdf/
The toolbar is intended to appear above other content to ensure that it remains available to the site user; however, if you don’t want this you will need to adjust the z-index values of the toolbar and/or your sticky header. We have a FAQ on the toolbar z-index here (although in your case, you’ll want to force your sticky header into a higher value): https://wp-pdf.com/kb/menu-bar-header-obscures-full-screen-pdf/
If you haven any further questions, please feel free to email our support team at [email protected] where they will be happy to help. We don’t always see the posts in the forums here to reply in a timely fashion.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Rendering “ti” improperlyHi rwdrummond,
Unfortunately, this looks to be a limitation in the script for rendering font ligatures. It may be due to how LibreOffice is outputting the final PDF so I would recommend trying to generate your document using MS Word’s own Export > Export to PDF function to see if this method rectifies the issue for you.

Hi samueladusei123,
We have instructions on how to resolve a Failed to Fetch error here: https://wp-pdf.com/kb/failed-to-fetch/.
If you are using a CDN such as AWS Cloudfront / S3, there is some additional Cross-Origin-Resource-Sharing (CORS) on the AWS side that you need to configure in order for the documents to be embedded on your site. We have instructions on the PDF Embedder and CORS here: https://wp-pdf.com/kb/hosting-pdfs-on-other-services-such-as-amazon-s3/

All of the scripts in the plugin were updated to the latest versions of PDF.js on the latest plugin release.
Clearing caches – site, if used, and browser – maybe necessary. For more information on how to resolve this please see our FAQ: https://wp-pdf.com/kb/the-api-version-does-not-match-the-worker-version-error-on-update/
You can force a client’s browser cache to load the new scripts using Cache Control: https://varvy.com/pagespeed/cache-control.html

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] Mostly goodHi Pedro,
Unfortunately there are some limitations with resolution and font rendering in HTML5 elements such as <canvas> which is used with this script to create the viewer. This is something that is still being worked on within the HTML5 and PDF.js communities.
If you have your site configured to display content as it is loading, this may force the PDF to appear before it is completely loaded resulting in a low res appearance; however, once the page has finished loading, the document should sharpen.
The license allows you to use the product indefinitely on your WordPress site. The fee also entitles you to support and updates for 12 months from the date of purchase. As an incentive to renew annually, we offer a 50% reduced renewal rate for customers who renew their license before their previous license expires. We believe this situation is better than a one-time purchase since you will receive updates for 12 after purchase and it offers a sustainable position for support and continued product development in the future.

Hi bobevanuk,
Hmm, if the issue is cleared in Chrome but remains in Safari, it does sound like it is an issue with that specific browser caching. I would suggest doing a hard reload to force the page and scripts to be reloaded (Mac/Apple: Apple + R or Cmd + R). I’m not sure if Safari has a “hidden” cache, but the following article may provide some further assistance: https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/safari-cache-mac-3496193/#toc-3496193-2
Reinstalling the plugin shouldn’t be necessary as it is working on other browsers, but if nothing else works with Safari, then it is worth a try. Deleting the PDF plugin will not remove any of your embedded documents – the shortcode will be displayed until the plugin is reactivated.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to send us an email at [email protected].
