In reply to: Browsers cannot connect to css, js and jpg filesI could try that, but it would seem that then it’s necessary to update the remote machine each time with the IP address of the private domain–which would mean changing the hosts file each time?
Seems simpler just to give my box a fixed IP and then remember to switch to DHCP when I go to a different LAN.
I must have missed where it says in the installation instructions about not using ‘localhost’.
Thanks.

In reply to: Browsers cannot connect to css, js and jpg filesOK–I see where I have WordPress and SiteAddress set for localhost on the admin page. But what should I have there if my host box doesn’t have a URL or even a fixed IP address? Do I have to give my host box a fixed IP address to have this work? (And then I’d have to change that to get on a different LAN…)

In reply to: Browsers cannot connect to css, js and jpg filesDuh–just noticed that the url that the remote browser is trying to use for the style.css etc files is “localhost…”.
SO the problem becomes: why is the remote browser looking for the support files in localhost rather than at the same IP address it is using to reach the main file?

In reply to: links not working–WP on our page w/iframeI’m sorry. Didn’t know that was my job. I haven’t decided which solution is best. Right now leaning toward just using the main WordPress page and not trying to integrate it into one of our pages. When I get a chance I’ll work on modifying the theme appropriately.
Thanks to all.

In reply to: links not working–WP on our page w/iframeStrange–now some of the links that weren’t work are working, but several still are not. (We added another entry, a video, and its links are working.)
Our site is https://www.directedmessages.com/directedmessages/bloghome.html and the blog itself is at https://www.directedmessages.com/wordpress.
I’m hoping either to be able to “brand” the default theme or find a theme that’s easier to brand, so the embedded blog is probably not a permanent solution–especially if this linking problem persists.
Thanks for your support.

In reply to: Enter code for 'TM' in taglineThanks.
That worked.
I had tried using
?
™
and it just copied the actual letters and numbers. Of course maybe I made some other mistake in entering it. It worked fine in the title of this post, tho.I give up. I just spent 20 minutes trying to show the actual code I had used and this stupid editor insists on interpreting it with the symbol regardless of how I try to wrap it in backticks or whatever.
