I sent it the day of the previous exchange here, the 20th–had to go to Firefox since the link wasn’t work on Safari. It pertained to lynnunderwood. I had mentioned similar problems coming to me (ebever) from her website.
I notice I never did get a confirmation of the submission.
Did the message I sent to the support link come through? I haven’t heard anything back.
Thanks.
Seemed to work in Firefox. Even after clearing cache in Safari it didn’t work. I’ll send the message now in Firefox.
That contact page is not working. The “form” says to log in with my WP.com acct. I do so and get taken back to the contact page, but the form still says I’m not logged in. If I go to WordPress.com, it shows me logged in and takes me right to my wp.com page.
Just one name there, now. Thanks.
You explanation of the ’65’ makes sense, but it doesn’t explain why my wife got an email notification (from [email protected]) if she’s not on the email list.
Since the latest post was password protected and not meant for general access, I had turned off the various Publicize links. It was when my wife got the email notification that realized I had to do something with the email notifications too, if I didn’t want people trying to access the protected post. When I began trying to figure that out I became confused by the 65 followers. So I’m still wondering who else, if anyone, got notifications by email besides my wife and the one email follower I see.
Thanks.

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpAll I have is the regular w-content/plugins directory. That now has just the new plugins from my previous WP download. I’ve got a new download I did today (the other was last week) and I’ll try the steps again.
I’ve got a lot of old themes in the theme directory. Should I maybe delete all but twenty seventeen?

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpI tried deleting all the plugins and uploading just the ones in the new WP source, but that didn’t change anything.

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpI did the manual upgrade, following the instructions on the site you indicated. I’m still getting this error message (which I think is the same that I was getting before the manual upgrade):
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function apply_filters() in /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-includes/load.php:316 Stack trace: #0 /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-settings.php(61): wp_debug_mode() #1 /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-config.php(77): require_once(‘/webroot/e/r/er…’) #2 /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-load.php(29): require_once(‘/webroot/e/r/er…’) #3 /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-admin/admin.php(31): require_once(‘/webroot/e/r/er…’) #4 /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-admin/index.php(10): require_once(‘/webroot/e/r/er…’) #5 {main} thrown in /webroot/e/r/erics001/blog/www/wp-includes/load.php on line 316
I’ve cleared my browser history (Safari) and I deleted the magazine-basic theme. The problems seemed to start when I upgraded PHP at my hosted site per the host’s requirement, from 5.3 to 7.2.

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpI see the instructions say to deactivate plugins. Since I can’t access the site admin, can I ignore that or is there some workaround I should do? Thanks.

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpWill do. Can’t do it now. Will return with results later. Many thanks.

In reply to: Fatal error: cannot create references …user.phpNope. And it won’t open the page (non-wp-admin) now either.
If I delete all the files and reinstall WP, can I connect to and use the old DB?
