Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the update while we tried to improve the overall experience and features. We have introduced, WP-CLI support for configure settings page with WP-CLI command. Also Disable Comments now have the ability to block comments that comes from XML-RPC and REST-API. Most of these features are requested by lots of users. As we have added some new features, to set them up properly, we have introduced a simple one-time quick setup. So there’s no chance to create any impact on your WordPress. So I am not sure why you think it got bloated, we have rather optimized lots of things to improve performance.

Regarding the UI, while some might love to see the default WP Admin UI, some prefer a bit polished modern design. And we tried to polish it up a bit, there’s nothing distracting in the design though we appreciate any feedback to improve further.

Glad that @mikeyswede you solved the problem yourself. I would love to know more what you did. You could easily contribute in our github, or share here.

Do not use the Delete Comments tool, it will delete the comment, using above suggestion is good for now.

I see it solves the issue, also no update from OP, I am closing it, if the issue persists, please comment here or open a new thread.

Thanks for your valuable feedback. We’re trying to build templates with the free version as much as possible but some good designs require the Essential Addons Pro version. As we’re regularly adding new templates, there will be plenty of templates with Essential Addons free version.
