Additional information: The direct traffic issue can be ignored from this conversation as it does not appear to be related to Funnelkit. I was able to solve it by adding UTM tracking codes to our meta ads which seemed they were otherwise not being tracked correctly on IOS devices. The direct traffic issue had also started before Funnelkit was added to the website.
However, the issue of a large portion of the purchases and checkout starts not being recorded in GA4 remains open.
I’m having a very similar problem. Many of my purchases are not showing up in Google Analytics. Also, for the past week only, the start checkout events in GA4 dropped to zero and then mysteriously started recording again yesterday on Sunday.
I’ve also noticed that a surprisingly large number of purchases are coming from direct traffic where the source and medium are not set. GA4 is also showing an outrageous amount of direct sessions coming from IOS devices, I think these are actually sessions that come from a different source/medium and the session source/medium information is dropping off at some point. Not sure if this is related to Funnelkit or not.
I’ve investigated these issues by using Google Tag assistant and examining the Google Analytics reports in detail but have not been able to figure out where the issue might be coming from. I am an experienced GA user. In GTA, I am creating some custom dimensions for the Google tag. All my conversions tracking comes from Funnelkit.
Could this issue be due to using both GTA and Funnelkit?
If it is due to using both GTA and Funnelkit tracking, what exactly causes this issue? How can I still send custom dimensions while taking advantage of the funnelkit conversion tracking? Is there another possible explanation for why this might not be working that is not related to GTA?
Wonderful, thank you Leon.
Now the auto-update warning went away from the Complianz plugin settings page in WP, and the plugins listing page shows the text “Enable auto-updates” text in blue. Note the text changed by itself from “Auto updates enabled” to “Enable auto-updates”
OK, so I had to go to Complianz – Wizard – Consent – Services and under “Are any of your advertising cookies used to show personalized ads?” I changed the answer from “Enable TCF” to “No”
How do I disable auto-updates for Complianz? There is no link to do that on the Plugins page.
On the right side column, the text reads “Auto updates enabled” but the text is gray, not blue. It is not a link. Clicking on it does nothing.
For another plugin that shows auto-updates are enabled, the text is a blue, clickable link.
